     Your rental questions answered

What is the procedure once I've seen a home that I would like to rent?

Firstly you need to know if the house is available for the desired period, you can do this by either contacting us by telephone or e-mail us your dates and we will get back to you as soon as possible.  To secure the villa for your holiday dates you need to send £100 deposit per week, making the cheque payable to The Florida Connection Ltd.  We will send a receipt and confirmation of your booking.  Eight weeks before your holiday we need to receive the remaining balance.
Is the rental cost per person?

No the cost is per week for the villa not per person.
Are the homes on the web site the only properties on your books?

No, we have a large number of properties that we rent.  The site will give you an idea of the developments that we work with and the type of quality homes that we rent.  We can also send you brochures via the post.
What communities are the villas in?

Our villas are all on private residential communities.  They are beautifully kept landscaped communities,  most with community pools, tennis courts, basketball courts and children's playgrounds
Are the homes well looked after?

All of our homes are looked after by professional property management companies.  They take care of cleaning, grass cutting, repairs, pest control and pool care.  If during your holiday you have a problem you can contact the management company and they will sort out the issue on behalf of us and the owners.
Do we have to take our own towels etc?

No, all of the properties have sufficient towels for you and your party.  All bedding is provided.  If you have an infant in your party you may need to hire a cot or high chair, which we can arrange for you.  Quite a few of our homes already have both of these for your use at no extra cost.
Where do we collect the key?

Before you travel you will be sent directions to the villa from the airport.  You will also be provided with a lock box code.  On arrival at the villa you punch in the number code and the key will be released.  Most of our homes have a security alarm system.  If this is the case we will also forward the alarm combination before you travel.

Are all of the villas air conditioned?

Yes, all homes have air conditioning for your comfort.  We do ask that if you have the patio doors opened during the day then please turn off the air as this can over work the pump resulting in irreparable damage to the system.  Likewise please respect the owners costs and turn down the AC if you are out for the day.  On your return to the home increase the AC and it  will cool down surprisingly quickly.  Most homes are fitted with additional ceiling fans.

Why do the pools look like they are covered with a dark cage?

All rental homes in Florida are covered with a fine transparent mesh, for safety purposes.  They also have the added bonus of keeping out the tropical insects that could be a nuisance to you especially if you are having a dip in the evening.  The mesh still allows the sun in so that you can work on that all important Florida tan!
Does pool heating cost extra?

Pool heating is not required for the majority of the year due to the climate.  However in winter months if swimming is something you want to enjoy on holiday then we would recommend pool heating.  Our owners charge per week for heating, this varies between £60 and £90 depending on whether the pool is heated by gas or electric.
What deposit do we pay and when is the balance due?

To secure the booking we require a deposit of £100 per week.  The balance is due 8 weeks before you travel.
